The purple tide...

So have finished the storm vermin for this months goal basically have turned into a painting machine the past few days (helped abit by the snow) but they are looking good and am pleased with how they have turned out. Next months project will be the screaming bell, which these guys will be pushing.... and on that note just wondered about rank configurations... and how you would put/where you would put the bell that these guys would be pushing? (as i'm about to make their movement tray and wanted it to be integrated) Anyway without further ado.....!!

  1. These look wicked mate - well done! And with 3 weeks to spare as well...! Wish I was anywhere near finishing. Just spent the afternoon making 5 Crossbowmen - I wanted them to have shields so had to remove their left arms from the crossbows!

  5. Rusty weapons -

boltgun metal painted on all of the blade (maybe with alittle chaos black).
mix a wash of badab black, scorched brown, (I added some purple wash to tie in the colour also), and water. If anything more scorched brown than anything so there the pigment holds on the surface.

Then sponge on some orange with a tint of brown in to take off the brightness

Then chainmail on the edges and wherever you feel necessary to make it look like a roughly sharpened/scratched blade.

  6. As for your question about the bell, it comes to the front rank so you have your bell with your command either side of it and then rank up around it accordingly. Also well done, neat and tidy rich, neat and tidy :)
